Bada-Bing! The Magical Product Swap, a FREEBIE and a Giveaway!

Jessica at Mrs. Stanford’s Class blog hosted a product swap and I am here to show you the fun product I got to review.  I was able to swap products with the wonderful Heather Perkins at Second Grade Perks. She has some really great products at her TPT Store - Check  em' out.  The product she swapped with me was her Word of the Day unit.

This unit is a very useful tool to help enlarge student vocabulary.  Since I teach at a Title I school, I'm always looking for ways to build schema and increase student vocabulary.  It was easy to incorporate into Daily5/CAFE because my students are already working on collecting words.

Heather's Vocabulary packet really spells out how use her unit.
She introduces 2 words on Tuesday and Thursday and students work on vocabulary for homework.  Every Friday students have a vocabulary quiz.

We have a word collector board with flip cards for student generated
vocabulary.
As we introduced the words I had the kids create a card that has a picture and definition of each new vocabulary word.

We also have a large class word collector book where we add the word of the day.  Students also have their writing journals with a word collector section where they keep these words to use in their writing.

Click HERE to get the vocabulary flip cards as a FREEBIE!

To celebrate the product swap and 200 Followers you can enter below for a chance to win one of several products from my store or a Target Gift Card.
